My heart goes aflutter
When I think of bygone days
I know I have just memories,
Those moments won't come back, no way!

Those young carefree ways,
When life was simply gay,
Not a care in the world
Just plain studies and play.

Those treks into the mountains
Those cold yet tingling nights
With friends, laughter and song
Sure, it was pure delight.

Room mates and college banter
Petty fights and shoulders to cry on
I thought it would last an eternity
But life is one huge con.

So, today I go down memory lane,
It brings a tear to my eye
I cherish all those magical moments
and wait aside as I see life go by.
